Habits determine the quality of our life. If we are not addicted to smoking, drinking, food or drugs, we are addicted to emotional rejection or lack of love.

This is a meditation of Kundalini Yoga practice specific to treating addictions. It acts in the region of the brain that lies below the pineal gland, the area where the imbalances caused by addictions occur.  Beginners should practice this meditation for 5 to 7 minutes and gradually the time can be increased to the maximum of 31 minutes.

Sit with your spine straight in the meditation posture.

Close your hands and press your thumbs in the space of the temples.

Focus on the point between the eyebrows ·

Breathe normally in a relaxed manner ·

Silently repeat the mantra SA – TA – NA – MA ·

At each syllable of the mantra press your jaw muscle lightly and release it

SA- infinity, cosmos, beginning

Ta – life, existence

Na – death, change, transformation

Ma – rebirth 

The pressure of the thumb on the temples triggers a reflex to the brain by activating the pineal gland. This corrects an imbalance related to the persistence of addictions.

This is one of the best meditations to help with the rehabilitation of drug addiction. Yogi Bhajan, master of Kundalini Yoga, said that this meditation will be very useful and well known to assist in the treatment of physical and mental disorders.
